Finding My Niche

Since I decided to start writing blogs again, I’ve been having major writer’s block. My friends can attest that I can pretty much talk their ears off, so having nothing to write feels a little defeating to me. Then I realized it was because I was trying to figure out what others would be interested in reading instead of what I was interested in writing.

As I said in one of my previous posts, I hope that this blog will entertain, as well as be informative about a variety of topics that I’m interested in – parenthood, make up,  fitness, food, and any other things I can think of. I’ve been looking for a niche, but really, I feel like my niche is just talking about life. My life as a parent, my love of make up, my struggle to be fit while being a working mom and loving food – the struggle is real people! I also would like to talk about products that make my life simpler and more efficient for me as a mom – hence my website name!

Lastly, life as a mom of 2 energetic toddlers is chaotic, and messy and it takes all my effort to physically organize my house. If I can organize my brain and think about focusing on a niche later on, woot! If not, then it will just be a better representation of what my life is like now ;-). So thanks again for staying tuned! And welcome to my life!

Everyone Needs a Hobby!

Blogging has always been in the back of my mind but I’ve never had the confidence to try to write for the general public. Not that I think I will get tons of “audience” anyway, but I think in the back of my head, I’ve just always had a fear of rejection. So I just wrote for my family and friends about the adventures of parenting after my daughter was born in 2013. I gained some confidence in blogging and about 2-3 years ago, I created this new site to start blogging for anyone to see. I wrote 3 entries, then I got pregnant with my second child. That pregnancy took a lot out of me. I was sick most of the time and when I didn’t feel sick, there was another little one to attend to. Then my son was born and there was just no time to even think about ideas on what to write to people I may not even know. I did continue to write about the parenting life with 2 kiddos, but it was mostly because I wanted to also remember their milestones as they grew up and I only publicized it to family and friends.

What’s the difference now? Well, for one, both kids can go to bed by 7:30pm at night. They are not necessarily sleeping, but they are in their beds by then and we have some down time before bedtime. But in all honesty, I think I just decided to grow some balls and do what I’ve always wanted to. Putting yourself out there can be so daunting and my fear of rejection will always be there. But I love to write (though don’t expect my stuff to be grammatically correct – english is my second language you see ;-))!  Time for a new hobby anyway – it seems to me that watching NCIS marathon all night does not necessarily flex my brain muscles. I’d like to get my creative juices flowing since… well… I really don’t think I’m very creative. I’m working on it! I’m a work in progress =).

My goal is to write and to entertain and to grow a community where maybe we can help each other out with whatever life throws at us! Who knows, maybe what I write could be useful for someone… or maybe it could just put a smile on someone’s face. That’s really my goal here. That… and well… everyone needs a hobby or an outlet or else they can go cray!

So thanks for reading and joining me in this journey!
